Throughout October, Scouts can join in on the fun by competing in one of two age groups: 8-12 and 13-17. Each leg of the tournament is a single-day competition and offers a $100 Scout Shop gift card to a winner in each age bracket.
We have arranged a second summer camp this year at Emerald Bay (June 30-July 6)!
Located on Catalina Island, Camp Emerald Bay is famous for its beachfront and mountain activities such as kayaking, snorkeling, scuba diving, paddle boarding, motorboating, and mountain biking. In additional to traditional field sports (archery, rifle, shotgun) and handicrafts (leatherwork, woodcarving, etc.), there is also a marine center with its own aquarium! Each troop participates in the traditional Emerald Bay War Canoe which features an incredible overnight teambuilding experience on secluded Parson's beach, just an hour's canoe ride from camp.
Camp Oljato offers a truly memorable outdoor experience for every Scout and provides opportunities for Scouts to learn new skills, earn Merit Badges, and just have fun in a safe, Scout-led environment!
Programs include extensive aquatics (sailing, motor boating, paddle boards, water trampoline, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, rowing, and lifesaving), rock climbing, COPE, handicraft, welding, nature, Scoutcraft, shooting sports, adult leader training, and a high adventure program. New for 2016 is horseback riding, log rolling, and water skiing.
Transition program for new scouts to work and learn basic skills on their Trail to First Class (similar to Baden-Powell at Camp Royaneh).
